Angang first vacuum mechanical pump project was completed and put into operation

Recently, the mechanical pump renovation project of the VOD furnace vacuum system at Ansteel Cast Steel, which was contracted by ASE, has been fully completed and put into operation, 20 days ahead of schedule and ready for hot testing.

As the first vacuum mechanical pump project of Ansteel, this project represents a significant breakthrough in the development of Ansteel's vacuum systems. The metallurgical performance achieved includes: vacuum time ≤ 7 minutes, ultimate vacuum degree ≤ 20 kg/h, and terminal [H] in degassing ≤ 1.5 ppm. The steel liquid produced has shown excellent data indicators after sample testing. Compared with steam jet pumps, the vacuum mechanical pump system has absolute advantages such as energy conservation, lightweight, low vibration intensity, and small floor space. After the project was put into operation, the monthly energy consumption of the VOD vacuum system in the casting plant was reduced from 216 tce (tonnes of standard coal) to 50 tce (tonnes of standard coal), with an energy-saving rate of up to 77%.
